But I'm ready to remember my place in this life. to mediate on the fact that i am dust, and to dust i shall return. it is comforting to realize that i am only a being running on the borrowed breath of God. It is good to remember that i am finite and that it is not my place to save the world, but rather to try to love God and my neighbor.
And I love that in this time between Ash Wednesday and Easter we get to watch the days get brighter, longer and warmer. Life begin to come back to seemingly dead trees, and the whole world prepare their hearts to celebrate the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
The peace of the Lord be with you...

hey buddy, i need to be reminded of this simple yet eloquent phrase: i am not here to save the world, but rather to love God and love my neighbor. i was tempted to put a "just" before the first love but i then it hit me again how BIG a task this really is. well, it takes our small steps and God's big big big grace. whew.
ReplyDeletei read your blog, again...and your words are again, thought provoking. i especially liked what you said about, "running on the borrowed breath of God". it reminds me i need to live my life for God, b/c He gave me a life to live in the first place.
ReplyDeletei always read your blogs.
ReplyDeletealso, i had a lot of fun last weekend. ;)
