I am starting 2008 in the same place I was last year, on the Gulf Coast.
I am with wonderful people and have seen wonderful things.

And I am ready for the newness of 2008.

I love newness.
I loved driving through the habit for humanity village of homes in the 9th ward of New Orleans today: New Homes, New starts.

I loved hearing my friends tell me about their new hurts and joys and nagging questions.

I loved seeing St. Peter's By The Sea restored into a church more beautiful than I could imagine.

I loved meeting Eddie, Erin's new puppy.

I am in love with new-ness,restoration but above all Hope.

and who isn't, really? Isn't new life, new beginnings, new opportunities for the miraculous what we all dream of? anticipate??

If I am alone on this, fine. I feel as if in the spaces on newness we see a bit of who God is.God who desires to do something new and good and sees us full of endless possibilities.
