Austin Day 236: For Adia!

it has been mentioned that this blog has been a little low on updates lately. I am jumping back into it all with a jumble of goodies for you, or entertainment for me.

i learned to surf on this beach while traveling with the family i work for, i feel the need to sell everything I own to chase the perfect wave for a few years! maybe i should take few more lessons first?

making new friends in Austin is still really difficult...loneliness is horrible.

REEF sandals are wonderful! I just bought a new pair and my feet are so happy!

Austin is weird. This austinites' car is titled "bacon in the sun" and is very weird! I saw it on the way to the bookstore a few weeks ago!

If you don't know about these websites you should!:

i miss my sister. she came out for a visit over Easter and I have come to realize she is one of my Best Friends...I want her to move out her but know she probably won't.

Andy is south of Bagdad these days and isn't sure when he'll get leave but for the rest of us it can't come soon enough.

I am loving planting flowers around my apartment and hoping to get some raised beds in soon! I need to read more about organic gardening and when to plant what when, ect. but so far everything is growing and staying alive! it makes me so happy!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I don't know how anything in this life works, but I'm begining to think that for any kind of change to happen we must first pray. and then keep praying.

this summer I'm going to Ireland, France, Spain and maybe Italy. Ireland will be for work, the rest will be for fun. If you've done this SUPER CHEAP and have any tips i'll take 'em! Also, I'm such a geek, and I'd like to read a different author from each country while i'm IN that country..if you have any suggestions I'll take those too!

you need to see brandi carlile in concert this summer! she's amazing! you can thank me later!

Love.

  1. Hey Linda! I'm reading a good book about Ireland right now.
The Princes of Ireland: The Dublin Saga by Edward Rutherfurd.
It spans eleven centuries and touches on most major events in Ireland's history - it's fairly accurate historical fiction. I was surprised at how much I've gotten into it. It makes me wish I was around in the 700's in Dublin!

(by the way, your trip sounds amazing!)

Thanks for updating your blog finally!
